Winery Notes:
Some of Washington State’s finest vineyards have provided fruit for the 2020 The Dissident. Red Mountain cabernet sauvignon from Quinn and Quintessence vineyards combine with merlot from Red Willow and Olsen and form the foundation of this blend. The Dissident is a wine that we create to complement the Dead Horse and Long Haul, the same vineyards, barrels and attention to detail go into crafting The Dissident. While Dead Horse and Long Haul are crafted to be supremely age-worthy The Dissident is built to offer a more approachable wine younger in its development.
Blend: 72% Cabernet Sauvignon, 24% Merlot, 3% Malbec, 1% Petit Verdot

A fruit bomb that's also well-structured, this generous red offers bold black cherry and raspberry flavors laced with vanilla and toasty spice. Finishes on a zesty, plump note. Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Malbec and Petit Verdot. Drink now through 2029. 5,600 cases made.

A perfumed mix of spiced cherry, dried flowers, exotic teas and dried herbs makes the 2020 Red Wine The Dissident impossible to ignore. This washes across the palate with the silkiest of textures, showing red and blue fruits under an air of violet florals. It stains the palate with residual concentration while finishing only lightly tannic and leaving pretty lavender and wild blueberry to linger. The 2020 is so remarkably pretty. The Dissident is a blend of 72% Cabernet Sauvignon, 24% Merlot, 3% Malbec and 1% Petit Verdot that refines for 18 months in a combination of new and used French oak.

Cabernet Sauvignon comprises almost three-quarters of this wine and Merlot just under a quarter, with the rest bits of Malbec and Petit Verdot. The aromas pull you into the glass, with notes of mocha, toast, red berries, graphite and spice. Ripe, plush, velvety soft red- and black-fruit flavors follow. Coffee notes linger for a long time on the finish. It's a winner.
