Winery Notes:
The 2018 RLC immediately jumps out of the glass with aromatics of ripe bing cherry, black licorice, cinnamon stick, and sandalwood. Flavors of cassis, anise, toasted almond, and savory dark chocolate with ripe tannins and creamy finish make this a sensational wine to drink now, though it can easily age in the cellar for a decade or more.

Powerful in flavor yet almost delicate in texture, this soothing but deep wine offers ethereal mint, cinnamon and nutmeg aromas followed by lush cassis, blueberry and cappuccino flavors. Generous fine-grained tannins gradually coat the palate and help extend the complex flavors through a lingering finish.

Another cuvée from the estate in St. Helena, the 100% varietal 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon RLC spent 20 months in 60% new barrels. This medium to full-bodied, elegant red has classic blackberry and black cherry fruits, notes of tobacco leaf, cedarwood, and chocolate, silky tannins, and a terrific sense of purity and balance, which are the hallmarks of the vintage. It’s ideal for enjoying over the coming 10-15 years.
