Westwood 2018 Sangiacomo Vineyard
Sonoma Coast Chardonnay
With Philippe Melka and team now at the helm of these wines, this is amongst the first from the producer to source outside of the estate. From the great farmers that are the Sangiacomo family, this is a rich and mineral-driven white, with high acidity underlying the robust, balanced layers of pear, Meyer lemon and baking spice. $55 Internet Price $43.99. 2017 Carlisle DuPratt Zinfandel
The 2017 Zinfandel Dupratt Vineyard comes from a cool site in the Mendocino Ridge that lies at 1,500 feet in elevation and is surrounded by massive redwood trees. It was also planted in 1920, so we’re talking about serious old vines. This 2017 has a perfumed, ethereal, lifted bouquet of cranberries, red cherries, spice, and flowers. Silky, medium-bodied, and beautifully balanced, it’s a singular wine from Mike that has the depth and class to evolve for over a decade. As with all these newly released 2017s, it’s not a blockbuster but shines for its elegance, complexity, and length. $48
2019 Cakebread Napa Sauvignon Blanc
Winemaker Notes: Aromas of fresh pink grapefruit, sweet citrus and hay burst with freshness on the nose. Cool melon tones balance pink grapefruit on the palate, accented by ripe acidity and a subtle mineral citrus finish $33. Our Price $26.95

2016 Paul Hobbs Napa Cabernet Sauvignon
Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon reveals bombastic blackberry pie and blueberry compote notes with underlying cassis, dried herbs and unsmoked cigars scents plus a waft of pencil shavings. Full-bodied and jam-packed with black fruits and earthy layers, it has a solid, grainy frame and a long finish with a lively herbal lift. 6,576 cases produced. $125 Our Price $99.99

2017 Paul Hobbs Russian River Pinot Noir
Moving to the Pinot Noirs, the 2017 Pinot Noir Russian River Valley is the appellation release from Hobbs, and it's brought up all in French oak. Black raspberries, bouquet garni, crushed flowers, and honeyed strawberry notes all emerge from this beautifully polished, medium-bodied, seamless effort. With lots of upfront fruit, plenty of underlying depth and structure, and a great finish, it's a winner. Drink it over the coming decade. $62 Our Price $52.99 (Back in stock)
2018 Luli Santa Lucia Highlands Pinot Noir
Winemaker Notes: With a brilliant garnet hue, the Luli Pinot Noir bursts from the glass with powerful aromatics of Bing cherry, strawberry cream, and baked plum. The morning fog and coastal breezes that pour into the Santa Lucia Highlands envelop the palate in the form of rose petal, blackberry crumble, red currant, and sage undertones. These rugged slopes stress the vines, producing fruit of exceptional complexity and structure, which reflect in the wine’s lively acidity and elegant tannin. $25 Our Price $19.99

2019 Forstmeister Geltz Zilliken Riesling Butterfly
Bottled with 11% alcohol and an unknown but rather moderate amount of unfermented sugar, the off-dry 2019 Riesling Butterfly offers a refreshingly pure, fine and slatey Riesling bouquet that is immediately attractive. Fruity, charmingly round and juicy on the palate, it is irresistible due to its grip, mouth-watering piquancy, finesse and salinity. Possibly one of the finest Butterfly bottlings I have tasted so far. Tasted from AP 10 20 in April 2020. $22 Our Price $17.29 (Arrives 9/11/20)

2017 Westwood Legend Proprietary Red
Winemakers Philippe Melka and Maayan Koschitzky were the hands and minds behind the latest vintage of this wine, which is more than deserving of its name. It’s a California red with a French accent, blending 46% Cabernet Sauvignon with 25% Syrah, 19% Mourvèdre, and 10% Grenache; the Rhône varieties were grown on Westwood Estate’s Biodynamically farmed Annadel Gap Vineyard, while the Cabernet Sauvignon was sourced from the Sonoma and Napa valleys. Together, they create a wine that’s alert with Old World acidity as it unleashes a waterfall of violets, plum, and black cherry skin that cascades across the lush palate. Tannins are sheathed in dark chocolate and tempered by white pepper. $65. Internet price $45.99. Grape Tray email subscriber price $37.95

2007 Taittinger Comtes de Champagne Brut Blanc de Blancs
This is a step up from the linear and fresh 2006. It shows subtle depth and power with a dense block of vivid fruit that's highlighted with lemon zest, green apples and hints of white peaches. Just the right amount of praline and nuts on the nose. Fine and tight bead give the Champagne a luxurious mouthfeel. One for now or the cellar. Drink or hold. $150 Our Price $133.99
