2017 Tenuta San Leonardo Sauvignon Blanc Vette di San Leonardo

Pale straw-yellow. Perfumed nose of herb-accented aromas of green fig, tomato leaf and white flowers is in a pungent New Zealand-like style. Bright floral and white pepper notes add lift to the lively but simple citrus fruit flavors. A subtle herbal nuance lends complexity on the long finish but what this wine is really all about is early juicy appeal. Drinking window: 2018 – 2020. $25 Liquidation Price $13.95 (Limited to stock on hand)

2016 Weingut Selbach-Oster Graacher Domprobst Riesling Spätlese Feinherb Alte Reben

The 2016 Graacher Domprobst Riesling Spätlese Feinherb Alte Reben (AP 23 17) is clear but still pretty reductive on the nose where smoky and ripe stone fruit aromas are displayed and intertwine with delicate herbal notes. Full-bodied, clear, lush, fresh, round and piquant, with crispy/crunchy tannins and stimulating salinity in the finish, this is a perfectly balanced and attractive Riesling with good expression and salivating purity. $34 Our Price $24.99 (Arrives 6/19/19)

2016 Castalia Rochioli Russian River Pinot

Winemaker Notes: I have been employed at Rochioli Winery since 1990 and worked the 1988 & 1989 crush, and have been Cellar Master at Rochioli for the last twenty-eight years. I created the Castalia label in 1992. The 2016 vintage produced 300 cases. The wine was kept for 15 months in oak, 25% new, all French. This has given the wine a much softer feel at release. As always the wine is 100% from the Rochioli vineyards. The Flad Vinyard was planted to the West Block Clone back in the late 1980s and also from the River Block, a West Block clone planted at the same time. These blocks give my wine its special character. The rest of the wine is from Dejon clones 777,115 and 667 from three different vinyards. This wine should age for at least ten years and be in it’s prime in from 4 to 7 years. Castalia Pinot Noir possesses the full-bodied complexity and subtle cherry essence that are so typical of the finest Russian River Pinot Noirs. $60 (Arrives 6/19/19)

One of the brilliant efforts from Hartford Court is the 2015 Pinot Noir Land’s Edge Vineyards. From a site located only four miles from the Pacific Ocean, this wine has a saturated ruby/purple color and a beautiful concentration of blueberry, black raspberry and black cherry, some crushed rock and spring flowers. The terrific fruit on the attack and mid-palate, the full-bodied finish and intensity are all promising in this brilliant effort. Drink it over the next decade. $50 Our Price $42.99

2017 Champalou Vouvray

Notes from Anthony Lynch: It’s hard to believe that nearly thirty-five years have passed since we first began importing Didier and Catherine Champalou’s wines. Few producers in the wine world boast such a consistent record, where each release is an honest and reliable ambassador to an appellation, a grape, and an entire region. The Champalous are masters of Loire Chenin Blanc, producing Vouvray in all styles; this still, dry rendition, aged in stainless steel, represents their flagship cuvée. Gentle and refreshing on the palate, it boasts a delightful balance of stony minerality with luscious, almost honeyed fruit and flowery notes, making for a great apéritif or easy pairing with all sorts of dishes. Didier and Catherine love to cook, and they will often produce an aged bottle or two to serve with a creation from the home kitchen. Best of all, their daughter Céline has joined the domaine, so we can hope for another thirty-five years—at least!—of delicious, terroir-driven Vouvray crafted with heart and soul. $20 Our Price $16.99 (Back in stock)
