2016 Le Mas des Flauzieres Gigondas la Grande Reserve
The 2016 Gigondas la Grande Reserve is a fine effort in a modern, reasonably oaky style. The blend of 50% Grenache, 25% Syrah and 25% Mourvèdre has a cedary, vanilla-tinged overlay, but it also has plenty of rich, ripe cherries and stone fruit. Full-bodied, creamy and lush, it nevertheless allows a dusting of dry earth and spice notes to come through on the finish. It's a complete wine that should drink well for a decade or more. $30 (Arrives 6/14/19)
