Shafer Vineyards 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon One Point Five

The 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon One Point Five is a fabulous example of the year at its best. Super-ripe red cherry, pomegranate, mint, rose petal and spice infuse this voluptuous, racy Cabernet Sauvignon. Readers looking for a wine to drink with minimal cellaring will find much to admire in this sexy, racy Cabernet. Even with all of its up-front fruit, the 2015 has quite a bit of depth and tannin to support at least a handful of years of fine drinking. 2018 – 2030. $95

2015 MacRostie Winery & Vineyards Sonoma Coast Chardonnay

My personal go-to white at my local supermarket, the 2015 Sonoma Coast Chardonnay is real Chardonnay class at a bargain price. It opens with notes of grapefruit, peaches and cream and honeyed toast with a touch of pineapple. Medium to full-bodied, the palate is purely fruited with a lovely suggestion of creaminess plus great intensity and length. With nearly 22,000 cases produced, I’m happy to report there should be loads of this to go around! $25 Our Price $18.99

2016 J. Lohr Estates
Seven Oaks Cabernet Sauvignon

Winemaker Notes: The 2016 J. Lohr Estates Seven Oaks Cabernet Sauvignon is dark and dense to the rim of the glass. Layered aromas of black currant, blueberry and cherry are accentuated by an authentic barrel bouquet of hazelnut, cocoa powder, and dark roasted coffee. High-toned red berry fruit strikes the fore-palate, and follows with brigh acidity and a full structure that is both dense and soft at once. $17 Grape Tray Insider Price $11.95

2014 Dunn Vineyards Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon

Inky blue/purplish fruit, graphite, lavender, grilled herbs and smoke run through the 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon (Howell Mountain). The 2014 has all the Dunn signatures in its flavor profile, but in the mid-weight style of the year. This is an especially restrained, young wine for Dunn with far less of the tannic heft that readers familiar with these wines are likely to expect. $161 Our Price $138.99 Limited

Wine Advocate 100 Points

This 100% Cabernet Sauvignon from a high-elevation site boasts an inky/purple color, and smells of ink, blueberry liqueur, blackberries, black raspberries, mulberries, licorice, charcoal and camphor.
