Tensley 2015 Syrah Colson Canyon Vineyard

The 2015 Syrah Colson Canyon Vineyard is structured and inward, with huge tannins that will need time to soften. Bright red fruit, menthol, licorice and pine are starting to open up, but the 2015 is in no mood to show all of its cards today. Readers should expect to cellar it for at least a few years. $42 Our Price $32.95

2015 Bodegas Ateca Honoro Vera Garnacha

The 2015 Honoro Vera Garnacha is the entry-level red produced with the local grape variety from vines surrounding the village of Ateca which names the project. It fermented in open-top stainless-steel vats with neutral yeasts and matured in oak barrels for a couple of months. Garnacha can achieve high alcohol, and in a vintage like 2015 it's easy to see 15% on the labels, as is the case here. It has a very ripe nose with hints of raisins, notes of candied berries and a spicy touch. It has a juicy palate with very ripe fruit notes and some fine-grained tannins. I'd like it a little less ripe. Better with food. 600,000 bottles produced. $9 Liquidation Price $6.69 (Limited to stock on hand)

2015 Austerity Paso Robles Cabernet Sauvignon

Winemaker Notes: Our robust Paso Robles Cabernet Sauvignon features ripe cherry aromas followed by licorice and sweet oak. The layered palate features bright red fruits with a bold framework of structured tannins. The depth of flavor is underscored by a long finish. $17 Our Price $13.99

DOMAINE DE CRISTIA Châteauneuf-du-Pape Renaissance 2015

This has an intense core of crushed plum, raspberry and boysenberry fruit flavors, draped with melted licorice notes and backed by a wave of warm fruitcake. Hedonistic for sure, but accents of anise, violet and singed apple wood dart around, adding extra facets of intrigue to hold your attention. Grenache and Mourvèdre. Best from 2020 through 2040. From France.—J.M 150 cases imported. $75 Our Price $64.99

WRATH Chardonnay Monterey Fermata 2014

Buttery and rich, featuring concentrated flavors of pear, apple compote and baked peach, with tropical notes. A full-bore style that is filled with spiciness. The finish lingers with cream and toasted coconut accents. Drink now through 2022. 446 cases made. –KM $35 Our Price $26.99

2015 Carlisle Rossi Ranch Zinfandel

Winemaker Notes: Medium-dark ruby-garnet. With aeration and swirling, aromas of kirsch liqueur and briery spice emerge from the glass. On the palate, tightly coiled but at the same time very poised and polished with no rusticity. Red fruits are echoed in the energetic, mineral-laden finish. Exceptionally well-balanced, this wine will age well and develop further complexity. When to drink? Wait a couple of years and then enjoy from 2020 to 2026. $47

2005 Chateau Rieussec Sauternes

The 2005 Rieussec is a blend of 90% Semillon, 8% Sauvignon Blanc and 2% Muscadelle picked between 23 September and 27 October. It has a fabulous bouquet that is mineral-rich and tensile. The palate repeats its performance from last year: focused, tense, laden with botrytis-rich fruit with a crystalline and sorbet-fresh finish that seals the deal. One of the best releases from the estate in recent years. Tasted April 2016. Market $54-$171. Our Price $64.65

Sommariva Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco

Winemaker Notes: A delicious aroma of citrus fruit and fresh herbs, with pleasant hints of bread crust, reach the palate together with exquisite energetic taste. The fine perlage enhances a bright straw colour and ensures a persistent flavour that cleans the palate and makes this sparkling wine excellent for the table: with simple or complex fish dishes and vegetable starters, white meats or, in the custom of its land of origin, throughout the entire meal. Exceptional served with sushi and sashimi. $16 Our Price $12.99

2015 Caymus Napa Cabernet Sauvignon

Deep purple-black in color, the 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon springs from the glass with lifted crème de cassis, violets and chocolate box notes plus hints of lilacs, raspberry leaves, anise and cardamom. The perfumed black fruit preserves and chocolate-laced notes completely pack the full-bodied palate, with soft, velvety tannins and just enough freshness, finishing very long and very spicy. Definitely one for hedonists seeking immediate gratification. $98 Our Price $79.99 Grape Tray Insider Price TBD

ANTHEM Cabernet Sauvignon St. Helena Beckstoffer Las Piedras Vineyard 2012

A classically styled Cabernet that's firm in structure and taut in focus and flavor, with a direct core of gravel and cedary oak—scented dark berry, licorice and savory herb flavors. Ends with drying, gripping tannins but also dense fruit and oak flavors. Drink now through 2028. 400 cases made. –JL $95

2012 Silver Oak Napa Cabernet Sauvignon, Magnum

Winemaker Notes: Our 2012 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon artfully combines the classic elegance of the old world and the ripe fruit of California. It displays an opaque garnet color with a bouquet driven by fruity aromas of blackberry liqueur and hoisin sauce. It also offers the savory components of sage and molasses. These complex aromatics are complemented by sandalwood and nutmeg characteristics indicative of American oak aging. This is a well-structured wine with a compact and rich mid-palate buttressed by silky tannins and generous acidity. Given proper cellaring, this wine will provide drinking pleasure through 2037. $250 Our Price $229.99 (Back in stock)
